LÁ SPRAOI

10458669_668914286524966_8739857289216510876_nD’eagraigh Glór na Móna i gcónasc le Fóram na n-Óg lá den scoth do Ghaeil óga i bPairc na bhFál ar an Satharn a chuaigh thart.

Ba é ‘Mol an Óige agus Tiocfaidh sí’ éiteas an lae leis an ghrian ag scoilteadh na gclocha agus  tháinig Gaeil óga ag landáil ar pháirc na bhFál lena gcumainn óige le páirt a ghlacadh sna feiseanna lena dteaghlaigh a thug a mblaincéid agus picnicí leo le sult a bhaint as an lá.

10304770_688451987888437_229751162309962354_nDar le hOifigeach Forbartha Brónagh Fusco “tá imeachtaí a leithéid seo ar fheabhas do fhorbairt pearsanta na ndaoine óga agus a scileanna teanga agus na daoine óga ag súgradh lena chéile ar dhóigh idirghníomhach sóisialta.”

Bhí neart rudaí leis na páistí a choinneáil gnóthach le dioscó, preabchaisleáin, péinteálaithe aghaidhe, ealaíon agus ceardaíocht, bia blasta, cogarnach na n-éan agus go leor leor eile.

Níl aon dabht, áfach go raibh buaicphointe an lae Batfhear agus a ard-naimhdeach an Fear ghrinn ag teacht chun na páirce ag baineadh geit as na paistí ar fad. Níos fearr arís, labhair siad i nGaeilge – agus cad chuige nach labhraíodh?10494872_668914226524972_232159758542636374_n

Dúirt Conchúr Ó’Muadaigh as Fóram na n-Óg, “Bhí lá den chéad scoth againn a thaitin le chách agus chomhoibrigh an aimsir linn fiú. Idir na daoine óga, teaghlaidh agus na cumainn óige ar fad, bhí lá rathúil againn.”

Gabhann Glór na Móna agus Fóram na n-Óg míle buíochas le ghach duine a bhí ann, na hoibrí agus óglaigh, Paul Morgan agus Roundabout chippy don chuidiú ar fad ar an lá. Buíochas mór eile le foireann Páirc na bhFál agus Comhairle Bhéal Feirste as maoiniú na himeachta.

Glór na Móna in conjunction with Fóram na n-Óg organised a great fun day for young Gaels in the Falls Park on Saturday just past.10458669_668914286524966_8739857289216510876_n

Mol an Óige agus Tiocfaidh sí was the ethos of the day with the sun splitting the trees as young Gaels flocked to the park with their Irish medium youth clubs to partake in the festivities along with families who brought along their blankets and picnics with them to enjoy the day.

10304770_688451987888437_229751162309962354_nAccording to Glór na Móna’s Development Officer Brónagh Fusco “events of this nature are great for young Gaeilgeoir’s personal development and language skills as they can interact with their peers in an interactive and social way.”

There was plenty to keep the young Gaels entertained with disco, bouncy castles, face painters, obstacle courses, fun slides, arts and crafts along with a yummy BBQ and a bird catcher allowing the young people to get better acquainted with the birds who make their home in the Falls Park.

Without a shadow of a doubt however, a highlight for the day was when the caped crusader Batman and his arch-nemesis, Joker descended on the park much to the delight of the children and young people. And they were further entranced when both Batman and Joker10494872_668914226524972_232159758542636374_n spoke in Gaeilge!

Fóram na n-Óg’s Conchúr Ó Muadaigh said, “It was a great day enjoyed by all, even the weather co-operated with us. Between our young people from our Irish medium youth clubs and families who came along with their young ones, it was a success all round.”

Glór na Móna and Fóram na n-Óg would like to thank everyone who attended, a big thank you to staff and volunteers, Paul Morgan and the Roundabout for all the great help on the day. Another big thank you to the Falls Park team and Belfast City Council for funding the event.
